Agile Database Development with JSON

Chris Saxon, Oracle

Abstract

JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) is the de facto standard for document exchange. And many developers are storing JSON documents as-is in their database tables. But doing so brings challenges when it comes to querying your data. How do you search these documents efficiently? How do you know which documents have which attributes? How do you know if someone adds a new attribute? Luckily there's a wealth of functionality in Oracle Database that makes answering these questions easy. This session shows you how to use JSON in your database to get the best of unstructured data in a relational database. This session is for developers and DBAs who work on applications storing JSON data.
