UKOUG Techfest 2019

Once you've enjoyed the line-up, then the real festival begins

It wouldn’t be a festival without a little time to let your hair down and enjoy an evening of networking and fun. When sessions are over, join us in the exhibition hall on both Monday and Tuesday to wind down for the night and chat over a drink.

Monday - Exhibition Drinks

On Monday night, the exhibition will be open for an extra hour to grab a drink, some nibbles and mingle with your community.

Tuesday - Guest Speaker

We're delighted to announce Marc Hogan will be taking to the stage before the social begins on Tuesday evening after sessions are over.

Can a sales & communications trainer become an Edinburgh Festival comic in less than 12 months - all to win a £1 bet?

Whilst giving a talk to a business audience, fellow speaker Jim Lawless challenged Marc to perform a 21 night, one man comedy show at the world's largest comedy event - the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

His account of his personal journey into comedy, complete with setbacks, triumphs and even a few tears and tantrums, will inspire you to see new possibilities and teach you to take personal action to achieve your goals.

Tuesday - Social

Tuesday night is reserved for our traditional social evening. The exhibition will transform into a hub of fun, games, food and drink. We’ve listened to your feedback and this year’s social will include a blast from the past with retro arcade games to play, a buffet to honour Brighton’s seaside charm and plenty of time to chat with friends old and new.

Brighton is a fantastic town for a night out, so if you’re still buzzing after the social, we’ve picked some nearby locations for all of your partying needs:

Brighton Music Hall – for live music

A two-minute walk from The Grand, this famous bar boasts Brighton’s musical talent all day, every day. There’s a huge selection of drinks and food to keep you going through the rest of the evening.

Genting Casino Brighton – for the gamblers

Feeling lucky? You can play a whole range of games, from Blackjack to Baccarat at this stylish casino just a few minutes’ walk from Techfest. They’re open until 5am so make sure to have your alarm ready for your Wednesday morning sessions!

Club Revenge – for the dancers

The South Coast’s #1 LGBTQ+ venue, this nightclub will be open on Tuesday night for those who want the ultimate party experience. It’s loud, it’s proud and welcomes all. Tuesday is also the night to Lip Sync For Your Life from 9pm to midnight.

World’s End – for the gamers

The perfect pub and arcade combo, this bar is full of retro arcade machines, remote racing, virtual reality, and more. On Tuesdays, they’re open until 12am.
